Changing Rhythms | Poetry

In a crowded room, you search for my eyes,
When the music plays, you lend me your arm,
You love me tender, you kiss me true -
You mesmerize with your mystical charm.
You spot the twinkle in my longing eyes,
You feel the butterflies flutter their wings,
We dance away throughout the night -
To the sound of lutes and soothing strings.

We glide on the floor in a warm embrace,
To a tune that's joyous, its melody sweet,
On tippy toes, I whirl round in circles -
I touch the ground and land on your feet.
When those eyes of yours meet my own,
You place a gentle kiss beneath my brow,
I stroke the touch of grey in your ruffled hair -
To love and cherish you forever, I avow.

I rest my head on your wide shoulders,
You kiss the creases on my scarred cheek,
While others are drawn to my painted face -
You look beyond, it is my heart you seek.
When the viola quavers in doleful strains,
In a gallant spiral, you bring me close,
We listen to our hearts beat as one -.
Together, we shall overcome all woes.

      1. Hey! Would you mind if I suggest something!
        I hope you won’t😂😂let me say…
I think it will be better if you write ” I rested my head on your wide shoulder” instead of ” You rested my head on your shoulder”

I told because each line is really beautiful & has its own essence❤️
